Parking Information

Parking is free at the U.P. State Fair! Our friends from the Knights of Columbus volunteer countless hours to help guests safely navigate the parking areas. If you’re able, please consider a $1 donation to support their ongoing charitable efforts in our community. 

Shuttle service is available from Parking Lot on 9th Avenue North to help transport guests to and from the fairgrounds. 

Getting around the fairgrounds just got a little easier! Hop aboard our new donkey cart people mover, which will provide transportation between key areas of the fairgrounds, making it easier for guests of all ages to enjoy everything the U.P. State Fair has to offer.  Golf cart shuttles will also be available along the route. 

Accessible (handicapped) parking for vehicles displaying a valid disability parking permit or license plate is available at Gate 9.  Courtesy wheelchairs are also available at this gate on a first-come, first-served basis. Because quantities are limited, guests are encouraged to arrive early if they anticipate needing one. 

Please follow the directions of our parking attendants and park only in designated areas to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. 

Hours 

Monday:  Gates open at 5:00 pm 

Tuesday – Saturday:  Buildings open from 10:30 am – 10:30 pm, SEG midway rides begin at 11: am 

Sunday:  Buildings open at 10:30 am, SEG midway rides begin at 11:00 am; barns close throughout the day  

Pet Policy  

Pets are not allowed on the fairgrounds during the U.P. State Fair. ADA-defined service animals are welcome. Please leave your pets safely at home where they will be most comfortable. 

The fairgrounds are home to thousands of visitors, livestock, and moving vehicles each day. Limiting the grounds to service animals helps create a safer environment for everyone. 

Additional Information 

• Help Us Keep the Fair Safe: Bicycles, skateboards, scooters, roller skates, and similar personal transportation devices are not permitted on the fairgrounds during the U.P. State Fair.  This policy helps ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests as they navigate the busy fairgrounds. 

• Be Patient: Peak arrival times are typically just before grandstand events and evening entertainment.  

• Protect Your Valuables: Lock your vehicle and keep valuables out of sight.  

• Remember Your Location: Take note of the parking lot or landmark where you parked to make finding your vehicle easier after a fun day at the fair!
